Early war Germans.

Here are a couple of pictures of the EW Germans(just a part of the whole commission). Still a couple of things to do, a bit more of basing and flocking. The crew for the MG needs to based and become a part of the base.

I really need to work on a good photo setup. Still experimenting.

WIP.

MG-42 with crew. WIP.

Lmg's and loaders.

Panzer crew member.

The battle continues...

My own project of the Warlord games new SS army box has been a bit delayed. Since last time I have had time to add a zenithal highlight, no pictures though. Have started to paint the skin on the minis. I will hopefully get back to this project soon and get stuck in with painting uniforms/camouflage.

The reason for the delay has been commission work. Currently working on some 1940's German grenadiers. Always a pleasure, not much camo just a few zeltbahn pieces here and there. Once this is finished I am looking at painting some 82nd US Airborne for Operation Market Garden . I will try to add progress pics now and then.

Something different..

One of the most iconic pictures of finnish soldiers during WWII.
It was brought to my attention that "Unknown soldier", the 1954 book by Väinö Linna is comming to the Big screen soon. I am hoping I will be able to see it here in the US too. Has been one of my favourite books for many years.

From what I have seen of the trailer it looks really good. The uniforms are spot on and the quick shot of a T-34 looked pretty convincing. I will get back to you as soon as I have been able to view it.

Find it here on IMDB.

A bit of basing.

Basing done. Need to drybrush the bases but I will do that at a later point. In the case of the bigger bases I still need to add some base materials when the crew is being placed. I prefer to do all bases at the same time. The next step is to start painting.

The tanks and the Pak got their first layer of paint. Next step is some camo.

Update on the SS Bolt Action box.

Work is progressing. Everything is assembled and primed.

Crew served weapons will be based later and and the crew painted separately.
As you can see I left of the Stugs schurzen off, makes it easier to paint.
Next step is to start the basic basing, before I do any painting. I could easily do the basic ground work later but I prefer to do it now. Just in case of any mishaps.

I will be back tomorrow with the next step. I prefer to let things to dry and cure a bit before I continue with the next step.

A bit of progress.

A quick update on today's progress.

Some cleaning up are still required mostly small stuff. Did some dry fitting too, I paint the minis separately. But it gives me a good idea what the base will look like and what I can add to spice it up.

Put all the plastic on their bases. Tomorrow I will start putting it all together.

Had some time left over to assemble the Stug III. I need to check my bits box and see if have any stowage to add.

Hopefully I will have more time tomorrow to continue assembling. Maybe even some priming and basing.

A look at the Warlord Games SS army box.

It just arrived today. I have been really looking forward to have a look at this. I did order an extra pack of the SS sniper team, panzerschreck team and flamethrower team. Just to give the army some extra options. Out of everything in the box the plastic SS is the only brand new thing to me and they look great.

I am planning on documenting this project in the comming weeks.

The contents of the army box.
1 Tiger I
1 Stug III
36 plastic SS grenadiers(6 sprues)
1 Pak-40
1 Mortar
1 MG-42
3 instruction leaflets
3 Stat cards(Tiger, Stug, Stuh 42)
3 Decal sheets(Tiger, SS, german armour)
Smoke/Flame markers

Nice crisp details. Plenty of options when it comes to weapons and equipment.
Below are some closeups of the sprue.

Examples of my basing process.

Basing is one of my favourite things to do. Especially crew served weapons, gives you an opportunity to work with a larger area.
The start of the basing process. Fitting the pieces before painting and adding the base materials.

The basics done. Painting of the crew and weapons are done separately before adding them.

40k Imperial Guard

I painted this Guard squad and Sentinel a couple of weeks back. Yeah went a bit WWII on this project too.

Something different..

USAriadna for Infinty and Gripping Beast vikings. Always find it interesting to experiment with different basing materials and styles.

Looking forward to add WIP pictures of my comming projects. Also have the oppourtunity to show the way I do things.

My Ebay store.

Few more pictures of finished projects.

Here is some more grenadiers from the same commission. The bigger bases start out as CD's.

Finished projects.

A quick post to test some features.

Here are some of my recently finished German Bolt action projects. SS, Grenadiers and Fallschirmjagers.

First some fallschirmjagers. Plastic kit from Warlord Games. A fun project, straightforward but alot of camo to paint.

Here is the full platoon.

Some grenadiers that I painted a while back.

Few SS, pea dot and oakleaf autumn camo.
